Sugarcreek – Pleasant Valley Trailers

A 92,000 square feet plant
and office expansion is well underway in the Sugarcreek Industrial 
Park.  Pleasant Valley Trailers completed a 60,000 square feet facility
just two years ago, but business is expanding at such a pace
that the new facility is necessary.  Pleasant Valley Trailers has 
numerous models of the tear drop recreational camper trailer and 
has also started a new series of pick-up truck loaded campers.

The Tuscarawas Sci Tech Corp announces the receipt of a grant award from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Administration of a $56,000 grant to establish a revolving loan fund to support scientific and technology start-up companies and/or entrepreneurs. AEP Ohio provided funds for local match requirements. First preference will be  given to companies or entrepreneurs interested in locating their business  or research operation in the  Tolloty Technology Incubator, or the Tuscarawas Regional Technology Park.

​ Dover – Natural Gas Station

Alternative fuel for vehicles is coming to the Dover and New Philadelphia area. A CNG – compressed natural gas – service station is about to open at the I-77 and US 39 exit in Dover.  The station is located about 2 tenths of a mile from the Dover southbound exit on US 39

toward Sugarcreek. In our area several company vehicle fleets operate on CNG, so this facility will be a welcome addition saving trips to the Canton-Massillon area for refueling.

New Philadelphia – Park Village South

Park Village – South is nearing completion for fall occupancy. The O’Donnell family, long-time owners of Park Village in Dover, are expanding their assisted living facilities with the addition of a 110,000 square feet facility on 14 acres off Old Towne Valley Road in South New Philadelphia.  The facility will include 114 senior units, and additional cottages for single family living on the grounds. Many local contractors have participated in this construction.

The 4th Annual Women in Business Expo was just held at Kent Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.  88 businesses owned and operated by women displayed their products and services to several hundred that attended this now

annual event. From cars to catering; from insurance to energy, from credit card processing to counseling services, the event hosted women’s businesses of every type and style, with the added flare and sincerity of Pink Party cancer prevention.

New Philadelphia – Diversified Engineering Building

Diversified Engineering has moved into their new, state of the art, office

building at the corner of Ray Avenue, NE and 2nd Street NE in New Philadelphia. The engineering and surveying firm will house all of its operations in this beautiful, three story, 16,000 square feet facility.  The firm also has an equipment and vehicle garage, and parking lot located on the site. Diversified has more than 50 employees and expects to grow to 75 to fill this facility.   This new facility for one of the areas many engineering firms gives evidence of the strength and vitality of the engineering profession in the area.  Eight engineering firms, the Ohio Department of Transportation District office, the Corps of Engineers regional office are located in Tuscarawas County, as well as the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District.

New Philadelphia – Dick’s Sporting Goods

The construction on the new Dick’s Sporting Goods store at New Towne Mall in New Philadelphia is nearing completion.  The totally rebuilt former Sears location will bring 49,000 square feet of sporting and recreational merchandise to the Mall, a Washington Prime Group facility.  The store is expected to open in November.

New Philadelphia – Freeport Press

The newly purchased manufacturing facility of Freeport Press is getting substantial upgrades and a lot of new, state-of-the-art printing and assembly equipment. This huge new printing press manufactured and shipped from Germany is being off-loaded at the New Philadelphia Freeport plant in the Knisely Industrial Park.  A team of German technicians from the manufacturer is working on the assembly of this new equipment. When completed the Freeport Press New Philadelphia plant will have one of the fastest, and largest printing capacities in the world.

Dover – Novogradac & Company, LLP Building

The newly completed officebuilding for Novogradac & Company, LLP is a beautiful new addition to north Dover. This building is located on a new street that will also see a new Union Hospital physicians office building, and a planned Dover Fire Department building. Novogradac, a San Francisco headquartered, CPA and development tax credit consulting firm, located offices in Dover about 15 years ago.  Since then the Dover office has greatly expanded operations to become one of Novogradac’s fastest growing and most successful operations, with 100 employees and 100 more to be added through 2018.  The new building is 37,500 square feet and cost more than 6 million dollars.
