There is a time to sow and there is a time to reap. In Tuscarawas County we are sowing the seeds that will bear fruit over the coming years and decades.
Tuscarawas County is positioning itself at the forefront of high-tech implementation. The Tuscarawas County Community Improvement Corporation’s knowledge-based economic development initiative is helping prepare Tuscarawas County business and industry for the global economy of the 21st century. Local businesses benefit from the county’s existing technology infrastructure and the Tuscarawas Regional Technology Park will soon house businesses dependent on emerging advanced technologies. Tuscarawas County offers progressive businesses the benefits of a large metropolitan area, high-tech innovation, a skilled workforce and a business-friendly economic environment, while providing a safe small-town atmosphere.
Education is a priority. Recognized as one of the fastest-growing campuses in Ohio, Kent State University Tuscarawas offers the resources of a major research university in a small college atmosphere. Students can earn Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in a variety of programs. The recently-completed Science and Advanced Technology Center houses the continuing education, science and nursing programs and the Small Business Development Center. Tuscarawas County is home to the Buckeye Career Center and nine public and four parochial school districts.
Industry is served by a growing number of full-featured industrial parks and many enterprise zones. Interstate 77, major state and federal highways and railroads make Tuscarawas County a transportation and distribution nexus.
Tuscarawas County is vibrant with fun and rewarding family activities, from boating on Atwood Lake to shopping for crafts and antiques. The county is home to the Tuscarawas Philharmonic, Sugarcreek’s Swiss Village and Trumpet in the Land. Tuscarawas County is a community prepared to “live well and work smart”.
